How come people who are so bad at taking advice able to give such good advice to others?

That's a tough one. I do that sometimes also. ';Don't do as I do, do as I say.';How come people who are so bad at taking advice able to give such good advice to others?
It's easier to say the right thing than do the right thing. How come people who are so bad at taking advice able to give such good advice to others?
I've often wondered the same thing. For me, it is a matter of my role in my family and group of friends. I like to be the one that others depend upon, which means I am usually the one that others come to for advice, the 'mommy' figure, etc. Sometimes it is hard to switch roles and take advice or feel needy, but I am learning to do it.

This kind of reminds me of psych majors...ever notice that the people with the most issues (who may or may not have overcome them) seem to make the best shrinks?
