Okay so im 24 years old. Im 5'6 about 260. I am interested in having the lapband surgery, however I dont think my insurance will pay for it. Any advice?I need some advice from some smart people?
If you must have a surgery and your insurance declines to pay, get yourself a good patient advocate to help you reduce the cost of surgery. That could save you thousands of dollars.I need some advice from some smart people?
I would always suggest no for surgery to do with weight loss.
Without trying everything else first.
can you say tes to all of these ?
1) a member of a gym, and go 3 times a week,
and sweat hard for at least 30 miniutes of cardio during those 3 visits ?
2)could you run a mile without stopping ?
3)sleep regular 7+ hours a night
4) only drink water or tea (no soda, alcohol, or sweetened drinks)
5) don't eat after 9pm (and not within 2 hours of your bed time)
6) dont snack between meals (if you get hungry, drink water or have tea)
7) stick with mostly fish and chicken (even better, just vegetarian meals sometimes)
8) dont eat huge meals and stuff yourself, eat 4 small meals a day instead
if you can say yes to all of these, and have maintained that lifestyle for 3 months without losing any weight.... then probably you have a problem you should talk to a doctor about.
If you have not tried such a lifestyle, then maybe you should re-consider surgery. and try living live this for a few months first
no calorie counting required, just sensible food, small portions and lots of cardio.
good luck
