Why do people give such crappy advice?

Some people who answer questions on here give the WORST advice. Seriously, you'd think they were just making it up on the spot.


ESPECIALLY when it comes to answering credit questions.


The ones answering the ';Help I'm in debt'; questions are probably the ones drowning in debt themselves.


Any one else ever notice this?Why do people give such crappy advice?
We actually have some excellent posters here. People like Echo, Studly, Slimick, Bryan, Sgt Big Red, Spifiman, BDancer (when she's not thinking like a collection agent), Celeste, Dave, Lisa S...all these people come here and give great answers to help people out.





We also have quite a few ';up and comers'; who really are putting forth an effort to learn about credit law and give good answers.





But on a whole I agree with your take. God knows I spend enough time here correcting people who give incorrect information.Why do people give such crappy advice?
yes i notice this...but most people need to realize that the people who are always on the answers dont have lives....


these are people who think that they know something, but really have no idea...


i mean there are the few who come on every once in a while, and know something, but there are still the people who dont have lives who think that by answering questions that they can fulfill an empty area within themselfs.


people need to look at the history of the people who give advice to really understand what the person answering knows
And a lot of the responses provide good information. Unfortunately, it ain't what the person asking the question wants to hear, especially people who have dug themselves into debt.





But the ones that really irritate me are the folks who claim to be professionals in the field and give out really bad info.
Well, look at who the people are that are answering these questions. People from all walks of life, all ages, all everything....





Really, do you want advice from strangers?????????





Most questions on ';Answers'; could be answered easily if the people use Google and not Answers....If they called the Company they are having trouble with, if they did their own personal ';homework';...

Some of the best on the net. People with tons of experience, some professional business people are giving good, educated advice.


Yes, good advice can be found on the net.


Yanswers however, is just a mix of people, some who have experience, others who just have opinions!





I have seen someone desperate for help, only to have an idiot answer them in a very ugly way. That's what the little thumbs down button is for.





I still find some really great answers here. Just have to weed through the trash.
Easy, they want points. They don't think thoroughly when giving advice because they don't actually care.

When you want the best advice you dont get it off an internet message board. Only a fool would actually trust everything that is said on here.
most people just want the points and some just like to give stupid answers to be jerks. i think you should only answer a question if you know what your talking about or have had a similar experience to what is being asked.
because it is you and not them and so they don't care. I honestly do , I come on here to answer the questions i do know so that i can help someone who doesn't. =)
Have you ever noticed how some people come on here expecting great advice? As though a bunch of strangers with nothing better to do would actually have the best advice to give sometimes.
If you think the people giving answers in the credit section are bad, check out the tax section! I have no idea why people answer questions when they don't have a clue.
ya, I notice this, its because most ppl on here are retards that cant pass the 5th grade.
