Why do people think asking for advice is a sign of weakness? I think it shows good sense and an open mind?

Have you noticed how many responders will attack you for even asking your questions on this site. As if to imply you are weak for asking and they are strong. Why do people think asking for advice is a sign of weakness? I think it shows good sense and an open mind?
See advices are something is everybody want to give and nobody wants to take. So people hardly asks for advice in real life because noone wants to take one. And it is assumed by others that it is a sign for weakness since people rarely asks for it. So i think its not a weakness sign. Why do people think asking for advice is a sign of weakness? I read and answered one of your questions. It was about the fact that wearing a tie isn't very hygienic but you still wanted to wear one because you thought it would not look professional if you didn't. You got 37 answers. Most of the answers were well-meant and were the honest opinion of the people who answered. In reply to the answer you choose as the best, you complained about the people who replied to your answer and how ';poorly thought through'; all those answers were. Asking for advice isn't a sign of weakness, but bashing all the people who took the time and trouble to sincerely answer your question, without giving them the possibility to reply to you on your email address, is.
You are right. It does show good sense and an open mind.

There is safety in a multitude of counselors. Of course, this means wise/sensible counselors.
Pah, if you get attacked for asking for help, then the person attacking you, as such, is the idiot, not you. If you get annoyed with people asking questions, then you hardly come onto a place called Yahoo answers, do you!? I say you just ignore them and get on with it, rather than dwelling on those who like to jump down other people's throats for something as futile as showing 'weakness'.
