Do you even have to pay to go see a doctor? How does it work? I'll never criticise the NHS again. Is healthcare in the US really so expensive that people have to come on hear for health advice?
Most Americans pay a for health care by contributing a small amount of their paychecks toward health insurance. Depending on what type of coverage their companies assign to, there may be small fees $10 - $30 per doctors visit, or no payment at all. Americans who work in jobs that don't offer health insurance can by very low cost government based health insurance. This government coverage is often very extensive and has little to no co-pays for visits. Americans who do not, or cannot work, can apply for free government health care called Medicaid. It is paid for from tax dollars. Senior citizen are covered under Medicare. A Social Security base health care plan.
NO ONE is refused health care that needs it. Anyone can simply walk into any emergency room, and they must be treated regardless of whether they can pay or not. There are also grants made by certain associations (like Hill-Burton) that will pay for medical costs for those who cannot.
The U.S. offers some of the best health care in the world. That's why you'll often hear of people traveling from all over the globe to seek treatment here. But you already knew that. We conduct more research. and are responsible for more major medical breakthroughs than any other county.
Most people come here to hear other people's opinions, experiences, get homework done, seek guidelines about questions they should be asking when they go on doctor's visits, and occasionally vent frustrations.
As far as health care, or anything else in the U.S. is concerned, let's not ignore the obvious. There are more people currently wanting, or trying to enter the U.S. or become citizens than any other country in the world. There are also very few U.S. citizens (includeing the whiners) trying to leave.
We also have excellent dental care.Is healthcare in the US really so expensive that people have to come on hear for health advice?
I'm here in America and need surgeries with no way to pay them so yes health care is too expensive.the surgeries i need are about $30,000.00 and they want cash.i don't have it and no one will give me a loan.
well, yes we do pay. But we don't have to get our governments approval on any drug or treatment. Your drugs come from OUR companies researching that we have to pay for and you don't. Your health care system works on the pocketbook, but you are not receiving the care you may need. I don't want my government making my choices for health care.
